By Chance - Opening Reception at Gallery on 16th

Please join us for our new show By Chance at Gallery on 16th Thursday, May 18 at 6:00-9:00pm. Megan Dorsey, our UW-Parkside gallery intern, has developed and organized this show as a culmination of her work with us this semester. Twenty six artists from 16thSt. Studios are participating.  

Gallery on 16th is located on the second floor at Racine Business Center, 1405 & 1515 16th St.   Refreshments will be served. 

By Chance:

Chance is an inescapable phenomenon every human experiences regardless of race, sex, or socioeconomic background. Chance is inevitable. I am interested in ways people attempt to avoid or accept the inevitable. This exhibition seeks to embrace and reclaim the unpredictability of life through artistic expression. The concept will be explored by letting chance dictate art. Methods like unconventional mark making, expressionism, photography, and other mediums are encouraged. The art need not be “abstract” but incorporate the concept of chance and spontaneity.
